“Mi jefe se gustaría conocerte después de las entrevistas (My boss would like to meet you after the interviews).” Ariel said to us.
We looked at each other – what would a busy busy busy man like him want to do with us?
We followed Ariel up the stairs anyway, and entered with him, into a board room full of journalists and editors. Full of them.
“Meet the wonderful girls!” Hector, director and editor of Tabasco Hoy stood up and introduced us. We were slightly overwhelmed. Yet, there was something still to be said.
So we stood forward, and shared with everyone in the room:
“All of us here – you and me
We are media people
We know the power of the media
It can move things
It can create changes
It can also destroy some
We stand here today
Not just to share our message and our project
We want to make use of this opportunity
And ask you one question
“What is your intention?”
What is your intention for putting down that headline?
What is your intention for writing that article?
What is your intention for shooting those photographs?
What is your intention for the media?
What is your intention for the people influenced by your media?
That intention is your power.
Use it well.”
