Mikaso Hotel – Space for Nourishment

We left IslaVerde, restored and ready for to continue on our journey. Waiting for us on San Pedro de la Laguna, was our hostess, Laurence from Mikaso Hotel.

At the beginning of this journey, we found it difficult for us to reach out and ask for help – be it in sponsorship for our gear, or getting a ride across the mountain to the next town… or even for a place to stay. Yet one year down the road, we know we wouldn’t have made it this far, without the many doors, and subsequently, the many hearts, opened to us.

“We’ve always said that we’re on a journey to collect dreams. Little did we know that we’re also on a journey to collect humanity.” Tay

The day we left, Laurence, wrote us an email:

Dear Laurence,

Thank you very much for your warm hospitality:

For we got plenty of space, for plenty of rest…

A huge room with two big beds!

A huge room with two big beds!

A free-to-use kitchen, where we prepared the many meals to nourish our bodies!

And beautiful spaces to soak in the views and savor the food…

And more importantly, Laurence, thank you, for opening your heart and sharing your dream with us.

Remember, you promised us – when you start your very own hiking tour, you will write us and send us a photo of you on your hike with your travelers! We will keep this space below, for your photo to be posted and shared:

With gratitude,
Val and Tay

“After the intense week at IslaVerde, I am grateful for the space in Mikaso – where we could integrate our learnings and align our body-mind-soul. Laurence gifted us more then just a roof above our heads in San Pedro. She gifted us space… for nourishment.”Val
